2 Doors, Lots Of Waiting

TWO DOORS ARE BEING HUNG IN THE DUTCH COLONIAL!

We’ve been at this project for so long . . .

. . . every minor update is a real morale boost for lil’ mama.

How else do I explain my giddiness about a pair of doors?

Let’s have a look-see at all the excitement.

Door #1

Here’s the same doorway last week:

Disclaimer:  G.O. is upset by the squalor + wanted to delete this photo.

Saner heads prevailed, though.

You may recall that we created the powder room

from what was a hallway.

Right now, it’s an approximately 5′ x 5′ boxy silo.

Oh, dear.  Boxy silo isn’t exactly the look I had in mind.

What shall we do, to add ‘instant age’ to this space?

First up, the marble tile floor looks like it might have been original:

As does the ‘new’ door itself, which is, in fact, original to the house:

It was borrowed from somewhere upstairs,

as was all the woodwork that will go IN-side the powder room.

Have a look!

‘Tis okay that this side of the door’s been painted.

My plans are to paint everything gray in the powder room.

But just look at the beautiful, original doorknob:

The paint on it has to go, + go soon.

Look at the other side’s knob + hardware!

I am seriously loving the black glass!

Stay tuned for a reveal of ‘Door #2’ . . .

+ meanwhile, here are few more RedBird projects!
